SUMMARY: This blog provides an overview of the show caves in Spain and Portugal, and also includes some caves which are freely accessible.

When traveling abroad I always find it to be convenient to have already some information about the sights which possibly can be visited. I hope this list of Spanish and Portuguese show caves will encourage exploring the wonders of the underground world (as it is often called in older books).

This blog contains all show caves of Spain and Portugal which are known to me. The link which is associated with the name of the cave refers to the official website of the cave, if it exists. If not, then I tried to put a link with a least some information about opening times, prices, etc. In December 2013 all links were checked.

Most websites are in Spanish, but I am searching and adding links of websites in English. These links are indicated.

The caves are grouped together in autonomias (autonomous areas which usually covers several provinces). These autonomías are ordered from west to east and from north to south. So it begins with the caves in Galicia, Asturias, etc., to finish with the caves of Andalusia, the Canary Islands and Portugal.
